Ode to Icarus

Like a moth to a flame,

You hover near those who hurt you.

Icarus, be extremely wary,

For they will continue their fiery ways.

Learn from your lessons:

Not to get too close

As when your wings burn once again,

God's greatest miracles

Will not be able to save you.

Remember, dear child,

When Death comes

You will face its coldness alone -

Not that it has been a problem, no;

You're used to the solitude of them all.

Take heed of the frost

That forms around your heart

It may heal your wings

But let it not freeze you completely,

For it shall break you too.

Temper yourself well,

Mind your surroundings

And take flight once more.
