How to do makeup in 30 minutes or less

Makeup is almost always essential to a woman's life. It is used most of the time to enhance their appearance, but in some cases, it is made to completely change their face!

One of the most common complaints that men have towards their significant others whom they go out on dates with is the fact that they take around one hour or more just to dress up and do makeup. It's not a crime to make sure that they look presentable in those cases, but for most working women who want to make themselves look presentable at work, one hour already takes up a lot of their time.

I only learned to do makeup in college, and most of it was just... meh (I really could have done better at the time).

Now there's nothing really wrong with my makeup back then, but I usually took up to an hour just doing it! A lot has improved when it comes to my application nowadays, unless I'm taking my time to do false lashes.

Nowadays, a lot has changed when it comes to applying makeup as well. Gone are the days when women had to do a lot of thick and bright eyeshadows, contours, and blushes to make sure that they look good on camera - minimalist styles are now in the craze!

To get on topic with basic makeup that can take you around 15 - 30 minutes maximum, one must simply stick to the essentials besides basic skincare. Such kind of makeup style (as you can see above) is best for everyday styles, which you can also use as a foundation to do more elaborate styles.

For one, simply apply primer to your face to prevent pores from sticking out of your cheeks and other oil-prone areas. The primer I use is Maybelline New York Master Prime by Facestudio. It's a drugstore primer that's water soluble, so you'll have almost no problem when it comes to your skin soaking up the primer itself.

I usually just apply one drop to every part of my face: forehead, nose bridge, cheeks, and chin. Applying it by using your fingers usually takes around 1 minute to do.

After this, I either apply some foundation to act as a concealer to my blemishes or directly apply powder foundation to my face, whichever is faster. It's usually better to apply the liquid makeup in the same amount and spread the makeup using a brush. When it comes to my powder foundation, I just swipe the product across my face using a kabuki brush. Any kind of foundation will do for you, which should take around just 1-5 minutes, depending on the amount of coverage that you want for your face.

Applying eyeshadow is most of the time important for many women as well, and it depends on you if you want to apply simple everyday eyeshadow or a more dramatic look. What's important is to make sure that they use the slanted eyeshadow brush and build the product on the brush to make sure that it's pigmented enough, and apply using a dot method for a bolder look, or swipe the product against the lid for a lighter look.

If you will apply eyeliner as well, it would save you a lot of time if you use a pen/marker eyeliner instead of liquid eyeliner. The technique here is to make the wing as minimal as possible to avoid excessively trying to perfect the eyeliner, which might take around 10 minutes if you are too much of a perfectionist about it. However, doing a simple eyeliner should only take you around 3 minutes.

When it comes to contour and blush, instead of using a fan brush which might consume your time to find it, one can simply apply product using the side of the kabuki brush. It does the same thing. Doing this might save you 10 minutes if you apply this method. If you'll be applying highlighter, simply use the following steps: 1) highlighter, 2) blush on, and 3) contour.

Lastly, to apply lipstick, apply a liberal swipe using your fingers or direct from the balm itself if you need to, then use your lip oil/lip tint/lipstick of choice.

Always make sure to have some wipes available in case errors occur that you need to fix.

Doing your makeup often is key to studying the contours of your face and making sure that you do them fast, so go ahead and apply makeup as often as you want!
